Poor Sparrow is a Columbus, OH based jewelry line that was started by Katie Guagenti in 2009. Katie travels throughout the country, hunting for vintage deadstock to use in her collection. She designs and constructs each piece using a mix of found vintage and modern materials. She also repurposes vintage chains, old brass and copper elements and antique parts to create pieces that have a vintage-meets-modern look, at attainable prices.
Katie has a degree in Apparel Product Development from Ohio State University. She currently resides in Merion Village, Columbus, OH. She loves to collect vintage bottles and books, go antique shopping, and hang out with her husband, Tim and their crazy cats, Lu and Walter. She can also be found with her very large family – she is the youngest of seven siblings. She also has seventeen nieces and nephews, who she adores.
